Baby & Me Yoga (Postpartum) at Harlem Yoga Studio LLC

About
This class for mothers and newborns (infant to crawling) provides gentle stretching, deep breathing, and moving with your baby. The class is relaxed and flexible so that you can feed your baby and walk around the room whenever you need to. Postnatal yoga helps to rebuild core strength, tone back and pelvic muscles, and release tension in the shoulders and chest. Babies get their very first taste of yoga with massage and movement. Mommies (and other caregivers) get a chance to meet eachother and build community.

Great class, but definitely better if your baby is not crawling yet.

Very beneficial for both baby and mom. Baby can socialize while mom gets a really calming yet intense session.

About
In our unique kids' yoga classes, children deepen their understanding of both the physical and mental practices of yoga through games, songs, discussion, and art. Kids learn multiple poses, begin to focus on alignment, and build strength and coordination as they practice from week to week. Balance and focus are enhanced through both traditional and “kid-only” poses, and partner/group asanas add additional creativity. Kids get a chance to teach one another and create their own poses and sequences. The mental aspects of yoga are further explored through a weekly art project that follows the theme of each class. The concept of meditation is introduced as a means to calm the body and mind.
