Jaz's Music Room (at Loom Yoga)

My name is Jaz-Rae but my students call me "Mrs. Jaz." I am a wife and a mother of two in Queens NY. I have a 5 year old son named Hendrix and 11 month old daughter named Santana. Yes they are named after the legendary musicians, thats how serious I am about my love of great music.

While pursuing my degrees in early childhood development and music education, I was the famed head music teacher at Gymboree Bayside. I was thoroughly trained in the outstanding Gymboree music, play, and learn curriculum. I was a beloved and sought after teacher there for 5 years. I have been an early childhood educator and entertainer for the past 6 years. It is my passion for teaching the youngest of our children that prompted me to start Jaz's Music room. I am licensed, certified and insured to teach the Zumbini Music and Movement curriculum and am thrilled to bring this musical bonding experience to our Queens parent community.

A classically trained and professional singer, I was a part of the Metropolitan Opera children's chorus as a paid performer for many years, performing in various productions with some of the greatest names in classical music. Legends like Placido Domingo, Kathleen Battle, and Denise Graves to name a few. I have also sung at Carnegie hall, Kennedy Center and was even chosen to sing for President Bill Clinton and the First Lady Hillary twice.

Since becoming a mother, my heart is in teaching my love of music to the youngest of our babies. Entertaining, educating and instilling an early appreciation for music and learning in our children is what my work and passion is all about.

It is my extensive performance background and vocal gift that separates me from other early childhood music teachers. My rich musical experience, allows me to create a unique and stimulating experience for children an parents in my classroom. An experience you will want to continue sharing with your little one week after week. I really love what I do and it shows in every class I teach.
