Sweat Football Club is super excited to bring NYC Girls Soccer Club to the virtual world!
With the rise is COVID-19 sweeping our nation, the issue of keeping kids on their normal routine has come to light. With bans being placed on public meeting grounds (parks, community centers, non-essential businesses) and schools being closed until further notice, NYC Girls Soccer Club fears that our young athletes won’t have the necessary resources to stay on their “A-game” until all this passes.
Sweat F.C has started a virtual training session, streamed through Facebook Live, where—just as teachers are uploading all curriculum and lesson plans for students—their soccer coaches would virtually instruct kids to ensure that players' skills are not affected by this unfortunate epidemic.
All virtual sessions are appropriate for indoors—and even use household products such as toilet paper rolls and socks, rather than a soccer ball or tennis ball, to ensure safety. They find this sort of set up engage players in a revolutionary way and showcases the importance of self-training and discipline.
