ABADA-Capoeira Bronx (ACBX) provides high quality instruction in the art of Capoeira for all ages. ACBX is the premiere Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian arts school in New York, specializing in physical and cultural arts programs for children, on site in our sun-drenched studio and in NYC schools. ACBXKids programs, for ages 3+
Capoeira is a dynamic multidisciplinary art form that through the unlikely combination of self-defense techniques, acrobatics, and music, provides countless benefits for practitioners. It is also an art rich in history, culture and language — many students learn to speak basic Portuguese, as a result of learning to sing in Portuguese during capoeira class.
ACBX classes cultivate creativity and encourage self-expression in a fun and supportive environment, allowing students to develop spatial awareness, motor-coordination, and rhythmic abilities, among other.
Our encouraging teaching approach allows students to develop valuable skills, such as confidence, respect, perseverance, grit, leadership, problem-solving, and empathy, that will accompany them for a lifetime.
