Peter Rabbit Tales - Live Event (at The NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts)

“Once upon a time there were four little rabbits, and their names were – Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail and Peter…” These famous opening lines of “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” have enchanted young audiences for over one hundred years. In celebration of author Beatrix Potter’s 150th birthday anniversary, Enchantment Theatre Company brings her captivating stories to life, using fantastic masks, whimsical puppets, gorgeous scenery and original music. Enchantment Theatre Company creates original theater for young audiences and families through the imaginative telling of stories that inspire, challenge and enrich audiences onstage and in the classroom.

PRE-SHOW EDUCATIONAL LOBBY ACTIVITY -- Join us an hour before the show to make your own Peter Rabbit puppets! Stations will be set up for younger and older audiences.

Educational outreach is a central component of the Skirball Center’s mission, and we strive to make our rich cultural offerings accessible to the widest spectrum of potential audience members, including young people, who are the performing arts patrons of the future. To enhance understanding and enjoyment of the productions, as well as to encourage continued theatre-going, we provide tailored educational activities prior to and after the performances. Creative workshops, talkbacks, and contextual learning exercises help to bridge the gap between artist and audience throughout the season.

Here are a few things to remember as you plan your visit: Most children are familiar with entertainment that happens on television and computer monitors. Explain that this will be different, because there will be a story happening live in front of them. The story doesn't stop if you leave the room.

Have fun! But, be safe as well as considerate to those around you. Please don't allow your child to stand on chairs or put your child on your shoulders.
