About Alva Swim School
Coach Alva is a USA Swimming Certified coach. She is also certified in Red Cross CPR/First Aid and undergoes background checks from USA Swimming every two years.
She has over 15 years of experience teaching many levels of swimming, from non-swimmers，beginners to advanced So Cal Junior Olympic swimmers, and over 8 years of coaching club teams. She has taught over 1000 students and trained nearly half of her club team swimmers to reach Southern California Junior Olympic time cuts, sometimes in as little time as a couple of months. She began teaching at the early age of 16 as soon as she began college. at Xi'an Physical Education University, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education, with an emphasis in Swimming, She was recruited as a young child to train and has swum for most of her young life. She also swam with Shanxi State's Swim Team in China, as one of their top swimmers.
In 2013, Coach Alva partnered with other coaches and started SGV Swimming. Now, Coach Alva is excited to be opening her own swim school. Passion, hard work and quality are 3 things she advocates at every lesson. She is a very animated and friendly coach who truly enjoys teaching and coaching to help her students achieve their true potential.
