The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum is packed with history. The hotel was originally a carriage house and sits on land previously owned by John Adams' daughter. When children go on tours around the hotel grounds, the guides gear their tours towards children and their interests.
Built in the 18th century, The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum and Garden is a historic site with a modern twist. Within its walls one can see travel, leisure, work and play in diverse antebellum New York. Today, the Museum entertains young and old with events such as scavenger hunts, Victorian banquets, historic pie making, and activities designed and tailored to today’s busy New Yorkers.
