During some workshops, instructors take kids out for 10-12 minutes around the block to practice social skills in public.
Socialsklz provides workshops that teach kids the basics of social interaction. Studies have found that teaching kids social and emotional skills leads to an increase in academic performance. Instructors at Socialsklz equip kids with a foundation of social tools that they can feel comfortable using on the playground, in the classroom and later on in the workforce. Activities at the workshop aren't just beneficial, but they're fun! Kids participate in games and mini-excursions that teach them table manners, how to make and receive phone calls, how to meet and greet peers and face-to-face social skills in public. In addition to these skills, older kids learn how to be safe using social media, smartphones, and the internet. When kids attend Socialsklz, they don't just walk away with the social interaction skills they have learned. The lessons boost self-esteem, develop confidence and impart kids with knowledge that they will use long after the workshops.
