Tots with Tempo (at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church)

Imagination meets music with Miss Katie and her kangaroo pal, Rockin' Roo. Tots with Tempo prides itself on using the power of music play to ignite a lifelong love of music in early childhood through engaging songs and musical activities for children from infancy through kindergarten.

Miss Katie's in-person classes meet outdoors weekly on the ground of Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, Virginia. Families bring a blanket to sit on and Miss Katie provides each child with a disinfected instrument and scarf basket and a TON of activities to get your little one moving and grooving. Activities include singing, finger plays with puppets, movement and action songs, rhythm instrument songs, scarf songs, parachute songs, gathering drum activities, and fun with extras like hula hoops, stretchy bands, or bean bags.

Tots with Tempo offers a variety of classes to suit your little one's age and your family's schedule:

1. Tots with Tempo Mixed Age (0-5)
Tots with Tempo is our main class open to anyone ages 0-5, making it ideal for siblings. Every activity is easily adaptable to all mini maestros. The fun includes singing, dancing, fingerplays, puppetry, action songs, parachute play, scarves, gathering drums, rhythm instruments, and more.
TIMES: Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 10:20-11:00 a.m.

2. Munchkins with Melody (12-23 Months)
Toddlers are the worlds greatest explorers! There's no sitting still in this class as we dance and groove to exciting action songs and explore rhythm instruments galore, gathering drums, scarves, parachute play, puppets, and more!
TIME: Wednesdays from 9:30-10:00 a.m.

3. Kids with Cadence (PreK and Kindergartners 4.5-6 years)
For PreK and Kindergarten students ages 4.5-6, KWC builds upon the exciting music play activities in Tots with Tempo while introducing more concrete music theory concepts in a way that is fun and memorable. Parental participation is optional.
TIME: Wednesdays from 1:15-2:00 p.m.
