About Math with Dr. Destiny (Online)
Dr. Destiny Perry is a mom of 5. She has homeschooled her children and other children for 12 years using print and online resources. Each of her children are now attending academically well-known colleges. She has been a tutor for the past 15 years with online tutoring for 5 years. She has taught children as young as 3 years old phonics and reading skills. Under her tutoring she has taught 3rd graders how to read at a middle and high school level. She enjoys teaching math to middle and high school students who are struggling to understand algebra related topics or student who just want to ensure they stay ahead in class and do not fall behind. She is quite knowledgeable on preparing children for the world as well as advanced college level education and careers.
She also is a ministry youth teacher. She has taught bible classes for youth ministry for 11 years.
She has been employed and as an associate teacher, substitute teacher, and virtual course facilitator in three school districts totaling 7 years of public-school teaching and educational experience. She has been a tutor for Project Grad where she has tutored elementary aged children. She also has been a scoring supervisor for testing and evaluation of standardized student testing.
Dr. Destiny Perry is a Christian Counselor/Coach and Mentor with a PhD in Counseling Studies. Therefore, she also has transitioned to focus on educational counseling and tutoring for children, teens, and young adults. In addition to having a PhD in Counseling Studies she has extensive educational accomplishments. She has a BS in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, and MS in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Criminal Behavior. She is a published author as well.
She has a childcare director credential and has helped develop learning curriculum for children in Christian camp and Christian education STEAM programs.
She has a passion for Christian counseling, Christian teaching, and Christian education. Dr. Destiny believes children can learn anything if it is taught in a fun, creative way that will fit the child’s unique learning styles. Everyone learns differently and she want to be able to continue to effectively teach children while adapting to their learning style that will promote the best educational and life outcomes for that cold.
