Marisa is currently a childhood/special education major at SUNY Plattsburgh. She has had a number of opportunities to work with students and help them with their school work, and other activities that interest them. She was a volunteer tutor for two years for a program called Adventures in Learning. Provided the opportunity to assist with homework help to less fortunate 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders.
Marisa also had the pleasure to work at a local elementary school in Plattsburgh, NY where she was in charge of a classroom of kindergarten and first graders. Her responsibilities included creating lesson plans, helping the students with homework and doing a number of activities with the children. In addition to tutoring, Marisa is a lifeguard for the NYC Parks Department where she looks after children in and around the pool and has taught a number of children how to swim.
