About
Kids at Work is pleased to introduce a truly age-appropriate cooking class for children preschool age. Cooking includes lots of sensory play (think bins of cornstarch, flour, cornmeal, or whatever the class happens to be working with that day) where we encourage children to touch, feel and squish to their hearts content. These classes are 'hands-on' as children chop, mix, combine, and are introduced to kitchen tools like the whisk, spatula, blender, and mixer. Classes will cover cooking safety and children will be encouraged to get messy. After a short period of simple free play and discussion of the tools and ingredients of the day, children will complete a simple baking or cooking project. Children are excited to taste their own creations (each child will receive whatever it is they actually created) and will learn the amazing cause and effect relationship of cooking. Please let Kids at Work know well ahead of your first class if your child has any allergies or food restrictions (vegetarian, religious restrictions, etc). The recipes at this class are nut/seed free.
