About
At Isola Riding Academy at Glenoaks Stables, beginners receive a solid foundation in Hunt seat Equitation and classical riding. Students experience a fun and safe learning experience from our personable staff and outstanding team of school horses. Our program is hands-on, teaching riders to groom their horses, tack, and provide riding instruction per their individual riding level and ultimate goals.
When to arrive:
15 minutes before
Additional details:
You will need to wear long pants, long socks and a boot with a small heel. We have boots and helmets to borrow if you don’t have your own yet. Please note: no bicycle helmets or cowboy boots.

Welcome to Isola Stables & Glenoaks Equestrian Center, the horse training barn of Grand Prix Show Jumping Trainer and International Horse Show Manager, David Murdoch. Our students test themselves against the best riders in their fields guided by our trainer's vast experience in the show ring and regular attendance at A-rated horse shows.
Isola Stables is located at Glenoaks Equestrian Center in Portola Valley which David developed as the permanent home for the training barn. It also includes Isola Stables Riding School, a community-based introduction to horses and riding operated by Isola Stables. It offers year-round riding lessons, birthday parties, Pony Club and very popular summer horse riding camps.
Whether your focus is show jumping, dressage or eventing, Isola Stables has an experienced team of elite equestrians to help you achieve your highest riding and training goals.
