This is a special FREE online class presented by KidPass Live Stage (https://kidp.as/live). KidPass Live Stage is a free livestream series that is open for the community and showcases many of the incredible classes and instructors on KidPass.
This year's Easter Aikido class we'll be practicing all our cool moves and calisthenics - one of which is... Bunny Hops, of course.
Of course, we'll also be doing our other cool stuff like learning some Japanese, Aikido throwing techniques and even sword work if we have time for it!
Aikido is a super-fun and super-safe martial art.
We start the class with the word "Please" and a formal bow-in. We then go through our warm-ups.
After that, we choose from learning a specific Aikido martial arts technique, a super fun Aikido game, or sometimes even "pretend sword" practice. But we ALWAYS keep in mind kindness and compassion. Aikido is designed to protect not only us but our training partner, as well. This is why it is often referred to as "The Art of Peace" and sometimes written with the Japanese letter for "Love."
And we always end with "Thank you."

They need to wear clothes that are comfortable. If they can be on a carpet, rather than a hard floor, they might be more comfortable. If not, no problem. If they have a martial arts uniform, they of course are welcome to wear it. IFFF they have a "bokken" (wooden sword) or toy sword, they should have it ready IN CASE we use it. If they don't have one and we decide to do sword practice, no worries. They can use a wooden spoon from the kitchen, or simply pretend. If you'd like to purchase either a uniform or wooden sword before the class, just text or call us at 424-209-2083 and we'll be happy to send you one. Aikido Kenkyukai International is a martial arts studio for kids (ages 3-16) that offers online sessions where kids can learn techniques from their own homes. Online sessions feature games and fun activities, and integrate traditional Aikido principles and movements.
