About
The most novel Mommy & Me class in city, 'Petite Ballroom' is an extraordinary blend of Classical Ballet and Ballroom Dance. It is designed for toddlers as young as 14 months and their dancing mommies or caregivers.

Developed by United States and European Ballroom Dance champions (as well as mothers of busy tots), this class will spark a lifelong love and appreciation of music and dance. Every single move and shake has been tested and approved by our toughest critics - our own children.

We sing, we count, we dance Ballet to the alphabet and Cha Cha to the numbers, we learn about European and Hispanic cultures and we have Loads. Of. Fun!

While we are having a blast, we do get down to the serious business of Dance. We intend to educate, not merely entertain. 'Petite Ballroom' lays down a solid foundation in both Ballet & Ballroom Dance. Petite Dancers and Moms (or Caregivers) will learn dance terms in French, Spanish and English, get a great workout and bond in the most special way.

Together, we develop the following skills:

- PHYSICAL: Grace, Body awareness, Strength, Flexibility, Spatial orientation, Gross motor skills, Self-control
- COGNITIVE: Rhythm and tempo recognition, Counting, Identification of Ballet and Latin/Ballroom dances (e.g., Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, Salsa/Mambo, Merengue, Samba, Paso Doble, Swing)
- SOCIAL: Proper dance etiquette, Taking turns, Sharing, Waiting, Self- control, Discipline, Teamwork
- CULTURAL: Exposure to Hispanic and European dances, culture and language

Petite Ballroom is a unique blend of classical ballet and ballroom dance. This class is suitable for toddlers as young as 14 months.

Every single move and shake has been tested and approved by our toughest critics - our own children. While we are flexible in many ways, we adhere strictly to one rule: we must have a blast! The exercises will lay a solid foundation in both dance forms while using dance terms in French, Spanish and English. Petite dancers (and their caregivers) will develop the following skills and gain exposure to different cultures:

- PHYSICAL: Grace, body awareness, strength, flexibility, spatial orientation, gross motor skills, self-control - COGNITIVE: Being able to recognize, count and reproduce various rhythms and tempos, characteristic to both Ballet and Latin/Ballroom dance (e.g., Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, Salsa/Mambo, Merengue, Samba, Paso Doble, Swing) - SOCIAL: Proper dance etiquette, taking turns, ability to work in a team - CULTURAL: Exposure to European and Hispanicdances, culture and language.

Editor’s Tip
Social ballroom dance is the mother of all dancing. Many of today's performing dance forms, including ballet and jazz dance, evolved from social dance forms.
