About
Your children will learn the fundamentals of yoga in a fun, pressure-free environment. They will experience the benefits of yoga through games, songs, and poses.

Students will be encouraged to explore the practice, through both physical and mental exercises. Emphasis will be placed on yoga poses, stretching, mindfulness, and teamwork, all while having fun!

Tiger Strong / Active Studios, located in the Upper East Side neighborhood of New York, is a movement school that offers martial arts classes, yoga classes and modern ballet classes for children and adults (and, just for adults, they also offer a stretching class!). Tiger Strong / Active Studios aims to develop a child’s core athleticism and physical skills through basic martial art techniques using drills, music and games in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. Bonus: at the same time, kids are also learning personal skills of leadership, teamwork, self-discipline and respect for each other! The karate classes are best for kids ages 2.5 to 14 and introduces them to the basics of karate, including the correct and safe method for punching and kicking, as well as more advanced skills of learning how to fall and redirecting energy. Kids ages 4 to 7 can learn yoga in a fun, pressure-free environment. And, before you ask: yes, they have birthday parties!

At Tiger Strong kids practice Isshin-Ryu, a style of Okinawan karate, that literally means 'one heart way' (as in 'wholehearted' or 'complete'). Each class focuses on inner strength with a Mind, Body, and Spirit approach.
