My 4 year old daughter absolutely loved the class and immediately asked if she could go again. I was so impressed with how much ground they seemed to cover in a short time -- the little "show" they put on at the end for parents was adorable and impressive. My daughter learned the correct form for (and was able to execute) an arabesque, and learned to hold her feet together for pirouettes and to hold her knee straight for jumps (those she couldn't execute quite as well but she is now working on it). Great class and we're looking into signing up for a package!

About
Ballet Beans (also known as Ballet with Maegan) are dance classes for children ages 2 to 6, held in the Pure Yoga West studios in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The ballet instructor, Maegan Woodin, is a professional dancer and teacher at Juliette and Ella's Playdate—another parent-favorite children's class—and is passionate about teaching your kids basic ballet vocabulary, posture, and alignment. In Ballet with Maegan, dancers explore circle stretches, story dances, rhythm exercises, traveling steps, and some free-form improvisation. Children practice moving as a group, cooperating, and following directions (as well as body part/spacial awareness and following directions) as they perform story dances and express themselves creatively with a variety of music.
