About
Driven by the notion that learning is its own fun, the Long Island Explorium is tapping into the most current research on best practices in education to create exhibits and programs that offer kids the chance to find out, for themselves, just how much fun real learning is! Interactivity enables children to learn at their own pace and, more importantly, in a way that suits their individual style. Of course, the museum is all about learning, but we believe that learning is at the heart of having a good time. The museum’s programs are designed around playful and purposeful experimentation that includes sensory, kinesthetic, logical, spatial, artistic, linguistic and emotional intelligences. Each exhibit invites children to confront interesting STEM challenges and design their own unique responses. At seasonally changing exhibits, children and their families engage with science, history, math and art in a way that cultivates a deeper understanding of themselves and the world as a whole. Winter, spring, summer and fall, there’s always something new at the Long Island Explorium.
