About
In our classes, Infants develop gross motor skills. They reach out and grasp for their little instruments. They can hold and tap a mallet and love shaking maracas and tambourines. While the children are having fun playing along with the music, they are rapidly improving their hand-eye coordination. Music also stimulates vocal production and produces a physical reaction from the child. Babies "sing" along with the teacher, cooing and babbling as they explore their voice. They also rock to the beat, dance, clap, and wave their hands. In our class, babies are encouraged to practice rolling over, crawling, pulling themselves up, and using their arms and legs in a variety of ways. (Some even start walking!) Finally, interactive creative play between the parent and child at this age is essential in establishing a nurturing learning relationship. Our infants class aims to help develop this relationship.
