Here at The New York Sewing Center, our love of crafting and sewing began at a very young age, which is why we love to inspire the next generation of fashion designers with this camp!
This course is a 5 day summer camp program for young students to express their creativity & grow their love of sewing through fun seasonal projects that they will be proud to say they made!
We start at a beginner level so everyone can follow along and even replicate their projects at home for family and friends.
During this course you will learn: · fashion sketching and mood boards · how to properly thread and use a sewing machine · basic sewing techniques and terminology · how to sew accessories and clothing · hand and machine stitching & seam finishes, appliqué and trim application · embroidery
The New York Sewing Center, in Midtown West, Manhattan, offers sewing, design, and private classes to adults and kids ages 7 and up. The New York Sewing Center was founded by Kristine Frailing, a fashion designer and sewing instructor with an education in fashion design and merchandising from Missouri State University and believes her clothing and sewing lessons empower children and adults and build confidence. In addition to her specialized education, she has years of experience in the fashion industry including positions at J.Mendel, Gurhan, David Yurman and her own clothing company K.BANASIK that has sold in over 25 stores internationally. The New York Sewing Center offers spring break camps, summer break camps, an after-school program, kids' birthday parties and fun workshops (like an American Girl fashion one!).
