About
The Japanese Language Discovery & Anime is a curated workshop designed for children 6-10 years old who are passionate about Japanese culture or want to learn more about it.
During these exciting 3 hours per day, students will get familiarized with the Japanese language through popular anime characters and shows like Pokemon, Dragonball, Demon Slayer and so much more.
The workshop will include interactive learning materials and fun activities like arts & crafts, drawing, music, and movements, all inspired by the characters of anime movies and comics.
Our experienced native teachers thrive on making learning simple and gratifying for children.
With our intuitive teaching approach, children get to have an enjoyable time while actively learning the basics of the language with ease.
To ensure a catered approach and teaching experience, each session is limited to 6 students.
Please note that there will be two 1-week sessions (July 11th - July 14th and Jul 18th - Jul 21st). If you sign-up for both sessions, you will get a 5% discount on the 2nd one.

Makeup policy:
No make-ups, no cancellations, and no refunds after the session starts. In order to take place, there must be a minimum of 3 students per session. If that minimum is not reached, the class may be canceled and 100% of the fee will be refunded to the family. We may offer an optional alternative (discounted semi-private or private lessons).
Refund policy:
100% refundable up to 2 weeks before the start of the session with a $50 restocking fee. 50% refundable less than 2 weeks before the session starts with a $50 restocking fee.

Prerequisites:
Classes are adapted to the age range of the group and designed for beginners, faux-beginners, and students with some knowledge in the language that could use some basic reinforcement. Therefore, no prior language experience is necessary.
Basics - such as greetings and introductions - and topics from prior lessons are reviewed at the beginning of each session. A new topic is introduced every week. Students who sign up in the middle of the semester will still be able to catch up - with worksheets from previous lessons. It’s never too late to enroll!
What to bring:
-A water bottle or drink, any snacks you require (snacks & drinks are not to be shared with other students or staff).
-Hand Sanitizer (we have hand sanitizer dispensers, but we also advise bringing your own personal hand sanitizer).

We are following a strict Covid-19 prevention protocol in accordance with the CDC and NY State Guidelines. As a result, in order to participate in this session, each student must have filled out a class waiver and liability prior to the first day of his/her sessions. We are taking every precaution to ensure a COVID-safe environment including mask-wearing, hand sanitizer, physical distancing, and temperature checks. Additionally, all our teachers are vaccinated.
We require all students over 2 years old to fully cover the nose & mouth, immediately upon arrival & at all times during your session(s). Masks may not be removed at any time during the session.
Social distancing must be observed by anyone attending at all times, as outlined by CDC & NY Safety guidelines.
