Reading and Spelling Group - 6 to 7-years-old

About
Join Teacher Nita, twice a week for reading and spelling enrichment classes. This class is for children who are learning to read, but who are not fluent in reading yet. Due to the very small number of students per class, (maximum of two students, and two drop-in students), your child can receive all the attention needed to become proficient!
During this lesson, the students will complete a handwriting exercise. Handwriting is very important as it generally deteriorates over time. Good handwriting practices ensure neat handwriting in later years.
The students will work in their graded phonics books, completing phonics worksheets. Please purchase the Grade 1 phonics book. They will complete the KUMON reading book, which encourages phonics, writing, and reading. They will then learn sight words, and read sentences and short stories using the share screen. Your child does not have to know how to read! Nita will start them from scratch.
Please Note: Although there is an age group and a grade, this class is not to replace any school subjects or teaching. Any age can take part!
Nita aims to provide a one-on-one service, where the children work at their own pace.
