About
From octagonal stop signs and rectangular doors, to triangular roofs and circular wheels—shapes are everywhere. Your little learner will have fun learning all about shapes with Mr. Chris. In this class, your student will learn what a two-dimensional shape means, and be able to identify a square, circle, triangle, and heart. Your student will also learn and practice counting as Mr. Chris and his students count the number of sides of each shape. Your student will also sing songs about shapes. Come join Mr. Chris for a fun and learning experience.
From an early age, kids notice different shapes even if they don’t yet know that the shapes have names. It takes longer for young children to learn the specific properties of each shape, such as the number of sides or how the shape looks. Giving preschoolers lots of practice with shapes helps them solidify their understanding of the two-dimensional structures. That knowledge of shapes gives the young children an advantage in many areas of learning. This also aids in beginning literacy, early math skills, categorization and comparison, and problem-solving skills.
Mr. Chris has been teaching for almost 10 years. He has taught in the elementary through the middle school setting. He has a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and certified to teach kindergarten through 8th grade.
