About
This is a special FREE online class presented by KidPass Live Stage (https://kidp.as/live). KidPass Live Stage is a free livestream series that is open for the community and showcases many of the incredible classes and instructors on KidPass.

In this class, the students and I will discuss the 6 habits I have created to help them in their writing journey, both to get started writing and to improve their writing if they have already started. The class will be mostly lecture format as I built a PowerPoint to help with teaching the habits, but I like to discuss each point with everyone to encourage their own ideas. I also like to include an image workshop at the end of class to start their journals and get them writing if they have not already.

This class is for beginners and intermediate writers as it was created to get individuals started writing, while also improving their technique. Students will only need a journal (or notebook they like) and a pen (or pencil) for this class.

Note that as a KidPass Live Stage performance, this class and your participation may be posted on KidPass social media. Since it is formatted for a large audience, there will be limited instructor interaction. If you enjoy the class, please visit the instructor's KidPass page where you can find other class offerings and formats including small-group, interactive classes. The course was great! I was in the other room but I heard my 14 YO son engaged in conversation with the teacher and she was giving him excellent ideas, prompts, and pointers. He will benefit from taking this course with the teacher more often.

About
Creative Writing with KP was created by Mrs. KerrieAnn to nurture and explore every students’ love for writing!

Mrs. KerrieAnn is a teacher with a passion for children and fantasy stories, which blossomed a natural love of teaching! She uses her minor in English to constructed classes meant to enhance your young writer’s skills. These classes range from the basics of writing a fiction piece to focusing on particular skills needed to craft a great work of fiction!

Mrs. KerrieAnn has worked with children for upwards of 9 years, 7 of those in various online and in-person teaching settings. In those years, she has worked with children of all ages, specifically teaching those from 5 years to 15 years old.

Mrs. KerrieAnn holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Spanish, which includes minors in Global Studies and English. She also has lived in Costa Rica. This degree and experience, coupled with her TESOL certification and years of ESL instruction, have given her a broad understanding of how culture and language affect a child’s understanding of stories and writing. This helps her construct curriculums that are adaptable to different students’ needs and understanding of the material.

Additionally, Mrs. KerrieAnn is a writer herself! She has been writing stories, poems, and other works of fiction for 7 years. She loves to edit her pieces by reading them aloud to her dogs, cats, or even plants!

Mrs. KerrieAnn believes that an encouraging classroom nurtures a student’s love for the craft of writing and can spark a new love for the skill as well! That said, rest assured that in Mrs. KerrieAnn’s class, your student will be learning in a safe, kind, welcoming environment.
