Tutus and Tiaras: An Introduction to Ballet and Creative Movement - KidPass Live Stage at Dancing with Ms. Annie (Online)

About
This is a special FREE online class presented by KidPass Live Stage (https://kidp.as/live). KidPass Live Stage is a free livestream series that is open for the community and showcases many of the incredible classes and instructors on KidPass.

Little ones will be introduced to ballet and creative movement. The class will begin with a rhythm exercise and brain dance warm-up. This will be followed by ballet exercises and stretches center floor, then exercises in space (adapted across the floor exercises) to build strength and motor skills. We will then engage in creative exercises and movement games to reinforce dance concepts.

Ballet exercises may include:
Plie
Eleve/Releve
Piques and Spring Points
Sautes and Echappes Sautes

Across the Floor Exercises may include:
Tiptoe Walks
Ballet Runs
Flamingo Walks
Bunny hops
Frog jumps
Crab walks

Students will get exposure to the structure of a ballet/creative movement class for young learners. Young dancers will finish the course with a very basic understanding of dance principles and class structure which can be progressed. This class will serve as a good foundation for dancers wishing to enroll in future dance courses to continue developing their love of dance. I look forward to dancing with your little one!

Additional details:
Please come to class from a safe space clear of any obstacles. It is best to not take ballet class on carpet, as toes may stick and injury may occur even when wearing socks or ballet shoes. Ideally, dancers will attend class from an area with a hard floor and ballet shoes so as to limit injury during the ballet portion of the class. Hard floors with bare feet may also be acceptable for ballet, but dancers will need to exercise care to prevent injury. Class attire should be form-fitting so that the teacher can correct placement, but clothing should not restrict movement. Leggings and a tank top work well if you don't feel ready to purchase dance attire! If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask!

Great class. My daughter loves it!

Teacher Annie was so patient, and did a wonderful job sharing foundational dance knowledge at a great level for the children! The class is listed for 3-5-year-olds, and that is definitely the perfect age range. We tried to participate with our 2 year old, and it was much harder, but we hope that maybe some day, there will be a tiny tots class from Teacher Annie, as well!! Thank you so much for a lovely class.
