This is a special FREE online class presented by KidPass Live Stage (https://kidp.as/live). KidPass Live Stage is a free livestream series that is open for the community and showcases many of the incredible classes and instructors on KidPass.
Holding up their hands to count, we will all sing the classic song “5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.” Kids will have the option of dancing to the music or focusing on seeing their fingers and counting. The monkeys will, one at a time, bump their heads and their moms have to call the doctor.
This class is intended for kids that are learning their numbers and kids that want to sing and dance interactively. Kids will leave the class having a general idea about subtraction, and will focus on seeing 1 of their fingers as a part of a set, which is 5. Kids will be using their imagination, as the monkeys in the song are excited- and mom and the doctor work together, and come to the rescue!
Note that as a KidPass Live Stage performance, this class and your participation may be posted on KidPass social media. Since it is formatted for a large audience, there will be limited instructor interaction. Being involved in the learning process with young children is so fascinating. I have been in settings teaching (for the most part) 2-6 year old children, and we have so much fun!
Working on arts and crafts and digging into beautiful projects creatively has been so rewarding for my students! Playing the guitar and seeing kids sing and learn about music is such a good way to channel the kids' energy! Reading books and talking about the characters, themes, and settings can be so stimulating for children's brain!
Overall, I do my best to put the child at the center of the learning process. I gravitate towards teachable moments, but I know from experience that a child will develop the motivation to learn something from inspiration and from the desire for self-discovery and being fascinated by the positive experience.
