Preschool "Phonics A to Z: Letter of the Week” - KidPass Live Stage at Teacher Laura Loranger (Online)

About
This is a special FREE online class presented by KidPass Live Stage (https://kidp.as/live). KidPass Live Stage is a free livestream series that is open for the community and showcases many of the incredible classes and instructors on KidPass.

This is a trial class for one of my most popular classes, as titled above. The course builds the phonemic awareness (sounds) and letter skills (phonics) needed for a solid foundation for learning to read. This course is appropriate for preschoolers and kindergartners. It connects each letter SOUND with the letter itself. i.e. /b/ is the sound that "bear" begins with. *Please note this is not a "circle time" class, and there is minimal singing, dancing, etc.

In this trial class, students will focus on the letter Hh and the sound /h/. I will introduce the name of the letter of the week (i.e. Hh), showing both uppercase and lowercase form and its sound (/h/), and students and I will show any objects we have brought that begin with the letter. After this, together we work on a worksheet that asks students to identify the letter H (circle or color the letter). Before ending class, we begin another worksheet where students practice making the letter strokes. The strokes are pre-writing for the uppercase letter formation that we would begin the next day, in the full course. See you there!

Note that as a KidPass Live Stage performance, this class and your participation may be posted on KidPass social media. Since it is formatted for a large audience, there will be limited instructor interaction. If you enjoy the class, please visit the instructor's KidPass page where you can find other class offerings and formats including small-group, interactive classes.
