About
This is a special FREE online class presented by KidPass Live Stage (https://kidp.as/live). KidPass Live Stage is a free livestream series that is open for the community showcases many the incredible classes instructors on KidPass.

Does your child feel lost when dealing with mathematical problems? Difficulty with counting? Basic operators? Do they excel beyond their curriculum feel bored? No matter how much your child loves or dislikes math, I guarantee I can make it even more fun for them.

Math is both a tool an art that I want to help students appreciate to a greater extent. Whether you have a child that has not begun school, a child in their early stages schooling, or even a high school student, I will make sure to tailor my lesson plan to captivate them help them learn. Throughout each class session, students bring in subjects they want to learn about OR homework they might need assistance with. This class is entirely remote, due to the technical difficulties that have accompanied COVID-19, I personally guarantee to always give you the full amount time (or more), whether I am late, you might be, or none us are. At the end a student’s time with me, I will leave them with a renewed sense confidence towards math a wider approach to problem solving.

I hope to see you all at some point am free to email if you have any questions! (kimalex@grinnell.edu) Stay safe healthy!

About
Alex is from Los Angeles, California. He is currently in Grinnell, IA and has felt a big rift in his life recently. With the structural shakiness imposed by COVID, he has lost access to outlets where he can teach and help others learn. He wants to make sure he can make learning more easily accessible and manageable for people of all ages, backgrounds, and learning styles.

He began teaching in formal settings in the 5th grade as a Math tutor for West Los Angeles City College. He taught up to Pre-Calculus and taught students that were between the ages of 16 and 65. Alex loves teaching. It makes him feel like he is finding a way in his life to help the people around him. He has been teaching ever since, at all of the schools and any other outlets he could find, in order to spread his love of learning and to interact with others. He loves spending time with children, as well as adults. He finds that every person has a unique experience and story that he can learn from.

Please feel free to contact Alex at (213)298-7038 or at kimalex@grinnell.edu (personal: alexanderjoohyunkim@gmail.com). He is on campus at Grinnell College currently and is available for any questions you may have, even academic ones if you want to get a sense for whether or not his teaching style is the right one for you!

Alex is also a certified concert violinist with experience performing at multiple halls with numerous orchestras, including performances and invitations to play at Carnegie Hall. He also feels comfortable and confident in most all academic endeavors. Most importantly, however, he loves people and wants to help you in any way that he can.
