Chess is one of the oldest games in the world. The benefits of learning chess at a young age are many. In addition to critical thinking, chess teaches discipline, hard work, commitment, concentration, how to lose (which is more important than how to win), sportsmanship, empathy, value for others, etc. etc. etc. Chess has a rich cultural history, with champions coming from all parts of the globe.
Will your child be the next Gary Kasparov, who at 7 came from a single parent family in Baku, Azerbaijan to shock the world? Although chess may seem too complicated for youth, it simply is not. It requires time practice and opportunities to play. Youth who take my course will have both. AND, since it's a game, they'll also have a great time!
