Family Yoga (Adult + Child + any siblings) - KidPass Live Stage at Melanie Sharrow - Kids Yoga Instructor (Online)

About
This is a special FREE online class presented by KidPass Live Stage (https://kidp.as/live). KidPass Live Stage is a free livestream series that is open for the community and showcases many the incredible classes and instructors on KidPass.

Family yoga is a chance for parents and their kiddos to reconnect after a long day and settle in for relaxing interactive simple yoga and mindfulness exercises. This is a weekly class and you can take as many or as little as you like! This class is best suited for kids aged 3-5 with at least one parent present however since this is family style class, older/younger siblings are always welcome. We will be doing mindfulness games, easy yoga poses and relaxing meditation. Often times classes are themed. Parents are guided through ways to help their kiddos stay grounded. Children learn how to self soothe with easy to follow breathing games and yoga poses. I also give a mandala coloring page after every class for kiddos! No prior yoga experienced is needed to take this class. No yoga mat is needed for this class and kids are suggested to be barefoot.

At least one parent must be present with their child(ren) during this class. With any physical activity, there is some risk of injury. Please only practice to your ability and watch children closely so they do not over exert themselves. I do not recommend this class for anyone with a prior injury they are still recovering from. Bring a water bottle, an open space is needed to participate and all participants need to be barefoot. Participants assume all risk when taking this class. A liability waiver will need to be signed.

Note that as a KidPass Live Stage performance, this class and your participation may be posted on KidPass . Since it is formatted for a large audience, there will be limited instructor interaction. If you enjoy the class, please visit the instructor's KidPass page where you can find other class offerings and formats including small-group, interactive classes. We really enjoyed this - restful, fun, and interactive for us all. Very forgiving, too.

About
Hello little yogis! I am so excited to practice yoga with you! I have been teaching at The Little Yoga house here in Austin Texas for the past year where I also earned my teaching certificate. I have also taken classes with Cosmic Kids yoga and have over 4 years of kids yoga experience. I offer various yoga classes for kiddos including morning wakeup, bedtime, themed classes, yoga story time, yoga and art and many others! Have an idea for a fun class? Let me know and I will make it happen! My classes also range in age from toddlers to teens and any yoga level. My classes are easy and so much fun!

Yoga is a great way for our kids to get moving, explore physicality, learn mindfulness and calming techniques. Especially in todays world, don't we all need to take time for ourselves to unwind? Come practice kids yoga with me, parents are included in my classes!

About me:
I grew up in Massachusetts and came to Austin in 2008. I love Austin; the music, food, people, scenery, even the heat! I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, crafting, volunteering and exploring.

I found my passion in working with children through volunteering with Girl Scouts and becoming a professional nanny. I also host foreign exchange students and recently became a licensed foster parent! I am constantly looking for more ways to improve my knowledge in working with children and I also got my associates degree in psychology and child development in 2017.
