About
This is an introductory-level course where students will learn to use video editing software to edit digital video; add background sound, music, special effects, and text; cut and merge video clips, and add pictures. The students will also learn to use Audacity (developed at Carnegie Mellon University) to edit sound and share their videos with friends and family on YouTube.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Upload movie to Youtube or Vimeo

ASSUMPTIONS
The course assumes that the learner is familiar with basic computer skills.
This course depends on the student's commitment to work in class and, if necessary, to work independently at his/her own time on a project assigned to them that will require access to a computer.

LEARNING RESOURCES AND TOOLS
The workload of each unit varies and each unit consists of a combination of the following:

• Lecture: The Lecture consists of notes that can be used by students as reference material.​
• Hands-on Exercises: The hands-on exercises help students apply the concepts learned during the lecture.
• Quiz: The quiz allows the student to further validate their learning. The answers are provided at the end of each quiz session.
• Projects: Projects help students apply the concepts learned through the lecture and apply to build an application,

A computer with internet access and a headset.

Prerequisites: A computer with an internet connection and a headset. For the projects, the students can use any Video Editing, Picture Editing and Sound Editing software they may already have. For the training purpose, the students will need to download Free MovieMaker software (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/movie-maker-10-free/9mvfq4lmz6c9?activetab=pivot:overviewtab) for editing a movie and Audacity (https://www.audacityteam.org/) for editing sound/voice file.
